Flexible Regulation of Distributed Coalitions

چکیده
This paper considers a coalition C of enterprises {E1,..., En}, which is to be governed by a coalition policy PC , and where each memberenterprise Ei has its own internal policy Pi that regulates its participation in the coalition. The main question addressed in this paper is how can these three policies be brought to bear, on a single transaction— given that the two internal policies Pi and Pj may be formulated independently of each other, and may be considered confidential by the respective enterprises. We provide an answer to this question via a concept of policy-hierarchy, introduced into a regulatory mechanism called Law-Governed Interaction (LGI).

A Distributed Chemosensory Circuit for Oxygen Preference in C. elegans
The nematode Caenorhabditis elegans has complex, naturally variable behavioral responses to environmental oxygen, food, and other animals. C. elegans detects oxygen through soluble guanylate cyclase homologs (sGCs) and responds to it differently depending on the activity of the neuropeptide receptor NPR-1: npr-1(lf) and naturally isolated npr-1(215F) animals avoid high oxygen and aggregate in t...
متن کاملMaximal Clique Based Distributed Coalition Formation for Task Allocation in Large-Scale Multi-agent Systems
We present a fully distributed algorithm for coalition formation among autonomous agents. The algorithm is based on two main ideas. One is a distributed computation of maximal cliques (of bounded sizes) in the underlying graph that captures the interconnection communication topology of the agents. Hence, given the current configuration of the agents, the coalitions that are formed are character...
متن کاملForming Coalitions for Breaking Deadlocks
When multiple agents solve their own problems while they interact with each other, it is helpful to form a coalition, which is a group of agents working together. Previous approaches to coalition formation have proposed to de ne the utility of coalitions and to use a strategy that agents form coalitions for getting higher utility. However, in some problems, the utility of coalitions is not easi...
متن کاملDynamic Administrative Coalitions with WebComDAC
User authorisation is traditionally coordinated by system administrators processing delegation requests. This overhead influences an enterprise's ability to respond efficiently and contributes to the total cost of ownership. We propose to reduce this bottleneck by supporting Dynamic Administrative Coalitions of ordinary users that hold administrative powers reflecting their authority. These coa...
متن کاملRisk-Bounded Formation of Fuzzy Coalitions Among Service Agents
Cooperative autonomous agents form coalitions in order to share and combine resources and services to efficiently respond to market demands. With the variety of resources and services provided online today, there is a need for stable and flexible techniques to support the automation of agent coalition formation in this context. This paper describes an approach to the problem based on fuzzy coal...
